Usually, most of the Latin players do play winter ball in their home countries. I haven't heard any discussion on whether he is or isn't, so I'm assuming, he isn't.

I don't think he is, because it said he was up in Cleveland with Branyan and Bradley working with Murray for a week or so. A lot of the AAA players don't do winter ball and just work on their conditioning etc.
The Tribe told Colon to not play anymore to ensure he is fresh for the regular season.

Being such a talented prospect and the "key" to the Alomar deal as some on this forum believe, I guess he doesn't need to play winter ball. Actually I don't know and to be honest I really don't care. If Branyan doesn't need winter ball why the hell would Escobar? Man I am pumped for this season!!!!!!
